"Just like Ashampoo WinOptinizer. Performance lacks"

    June 21, 2010  |   By Blade10X

    Version: Advanced System Optimizer 3.1.648.6846

    Pros

Similar to Ashampoo WinOptimizer, Big interface with lots of cleaning modules.

    Cons

Performance flaws. For such a smooth and preppy interface to low optimizing performance. Ah yes, i'm rating this product only because of it's interface and lots of features.

    Summary

Maybe i'm primitive and i'm acting like stereotype, but I always say that behind every preppy, smooth and very famed program is actually bad product and it's hiding his mistakes and errors.

    "Works well with Win-7"

    June 17, 2010  |   By crkohl

    Version: Advanced System Optimizer 3.1.648.6846

    Pros

Easy to use. Nice menu structure.

    Cons

I purchased this product to replace the Auslogice suite (ver 4). Auslogice now has ver 5. I like ASO, however, I am a bit wary of the asssumptions made. Perhaps, I haven't read the documentation well enough. Some processes are a bit slow.

    Summary

Very nice product. It's a toss up as to whether I use the new Auslogice suite or ASO. Both work very well and I have not had any issues with items that are deleted. I'll try both ASO and Auslogics on my client's comps to which I prefer.

    "Supereb Product"

    June 16, 2010  |   By kelly_ander

    Version: Advanced System Optimizer 3.1.648.6846

    Pros

Driver updater & system protector are the finest tools in ASO.
I have never come across such genuine results as shown by Driver Updater.
The daily updates of system protector are really too good.

    Cons

Have not come across any yet.

    Summary

It is a great utility which helps to keep system up to date and cleans all spywares and threats. It is a treat to use this product.

"Not a one off price - Requires more cash after a year"

    May 17, 2010  |   By bbach

    Version: Advanced System Optimizer 2.01.4

    Pros

Does a fair job with a simple to use intrerface

    Cons

WARNING!!! Take care ? it is no longer a one off fee. I have had ASO since 2007 and it suddenly stopped working in 2010. When I sent a note to support they tell me that they now want me to pay another $18 plus $16 per year.

    Summary

You can never be sure when this product will stop working and demand more dollars from you. Avoid.

    "Unimpressive"

    April 14, 2010  |   By geonk

    Version: Advanced System Optimizer 3.0.683

    Pros

Compared to other titles in this category, few. That's not to say that it's horrible, but it in now way stands out!

    Cons

Some modules have problems with 64-bit Windows. Supposedly there is a bug fix coming out "real soon". Which brings me to the worst part: abysmally slow technical support! Fixed sized user interface for at least some modules. I didn't use every one.

    Summary

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate. One of things I noticed right away when I started using this was that the Startup Manager failed to report ALL of my 64-bit startup software. This is, in my opinion, a FATAL error! It's also inexcusable for any software that claims to have full 64-bit support. To make matters worse, I reported this to them FIVE WEEKS ago. It took at least three weeks, and another email, just to get a response. The response said the bug fix would be out in a week. That is, last week. I've stopped using the software until it's fixed. How could I possibly trust SYSTEM software that misses more than half the software that starts every time I boot my system?!?
Finally, there is the issue of the user interface. At least some (I don't remember if they all do or not) of the applications modules that I've used run in windows that can't be resized. In my opinion, that is a mark of laziness on the part of the programmer. What reason could there possibly be for me to have to scroll back and forth in a tiny little box (on my 24", 1080p monitor!) I have uncountable examples of similar software that lets you resize the window so that you can see all of the information at once. There's no excuse whatsoever for doing otherwise! I'm not someone who goes in for flashy UIs at the expense of functionality. I do, on the other hand, think that any software that fails to take into account how difficult or easy it is for the user to view important data is not worth my time!

"THIS PROGRAM DOES MORE TO HARM THAN HELP YOUR COMPUTER"

    March 21, 2010  |   By bobsagetfullhouse

    Version: Advanced System Optimizer 3.0.683

    Pros

The GUI is about the only nice thing about the program.

    Cons

-The "fixes" it finds are for the most part working or legitimate registry entries or files that do not need to be deleted.

-Has the potential to incapacitate your machine.

    Summary

This is a terribly coded program. I ran the registry, and system clean up tools. The registry cleanup tool ended up deleting a bunch of important video codecs (and probably a bunch of other needed entries I haven't encountered yet). The system clean up tool listed a bunch of pictures, important documents and even important system files as "junk." Just about the only good thing about this program is the GUI. Everything else has the potential to either delete an important file on your machine, or do harm to your OS file structure. I do not recommend this program at all. It does more harm than good.
